Store and account region

Search results depend on the store for your purchase account, not your device language.

Check your current store first

This app is not available on the mainland China App Store. If searching for Shadowrocket doesn’t return a result, first check your Apple ID’s country or region instead of trying different search terms. Your device language, keyboard, and system region are separate from the region of the App Store account used for purchases.

The button on this page opens Shadowrocket’s App Store product page. The storefront path in the link does not change your purchase account. The App Store may still show a message based on your account, device, and current availability. Seeing the product page in a browser does not guarantee that your account can make a purchase. Check the product, price, and account messages shown in the App Store.

Before buying, check which Apple ID is signed in to Media & Purchases. The account used for device syncing may differ from the one used for store purchases. To restore the app later, you’ll need the account that actually made the purchase.

Where to check your country or region

  1. Open Settings and tap your Apple ID account at the top.
  2. Tap Media & Purchases, then View Account. If prompted, follow the on-screen verification steps.
  3. Tap Country/Region to see the current setting. To change it, follow the region change process provided by the system.

Menu names and paths may vary slightly by system version. Follow the account settings shown on your device. Changing regions may involve conditions related to account balance, active subscriptions, payment methods, and billing details. Read the on-screen guidance and resolve any outstanding requirements first. This path explains where to find the setting; it does not mean every account can change regions immediately.

If the App Store says the app isn’t available, keep the message and check your account region and product details. Changing your device language is not a substitute for changing your store region. Check the current App Store listing for price, purchase eligibility, and availability.

Verify the official Shadowrocket app

Confirm the product’s identity first, then use the official screenshots to identify screens.

Official App Store icon

Developer, icon, and app ID must all match

On the App Store product page, confirm the name is Shadowrocket and the developer is Shadow Launch Technology Limited. If the listing only shows the app name, open the full product page to check the developer. A similar name, a name containing “Shadowrocket,” or a high search ranking is no substitute for verifying the developer.

The official icon is a rocket outlined in blue and purple on a white background, matching the icon shown here. Use the icon as a helpful clue, not the sole way to identify the app. Also verify that the product page URL contains id932747118 and that the app ID is 932747118. Once all three details match, review the price and compatibility.

Search results may include apps with the same or similar names. If the developer differs, the icon details don’t match, or the app ID on the product page is different, return to the correct product page and verify again. Don’t rely only on keywords in the description, screenshot colors, or extra wording in the app name to identify what you’re buying.

Screenshots are for reference, not identity verification

The two images are official App Store screenshots showing Home and Add Server. Home shows Not Connected, Global Routing, Connectivity Test, and the SERVER section. Add Server shows fields such as Type, Host, Port, Password, and Method.

These interface labels can help you find your way around after installation. The initial state shown in a screenshot does not mean you’re ready to connect, and you don’t need to copy every value shown. When adding a server, use your own details. The interface may change depending on the current app state; refer to the screen displayed on your device.

Install and open Shadowrocket on iPhone

Complete the App Store purchase before setting up the app and approving system access.

Check compatibility and payment details before buying

Open the product page on your iPhone. Review the compatibility section, then check the price and purchase account. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements rather than relying on an old guide or screenshot. Once you’ve confirmed your device is compatible, tap the purchase button shown in the App Store and complete the transaction using the requested authentication.

If the page shows a price, the app is currently available to purchase from that page. If it shows a redownload icon for an app you’ve bought, check the associated purchase history first. Wait for the App Store to finish downloading before opening the app from your Home Screen. If the download is paused or pending, or you see a payment message, resolve it in the App Store. An incomplete installation is not the same as a connection problem.

If the download stays pending, check your local network and available device storage, and see whether there’s a pending payment issue on your account. Keeping the exact system message can help distinguish a store issue from an app issue. Closing and reopening the app won’t resolve an incomplete App Store transaction.

First launch and VPN configuration permission

When you first open the app, check the screen layout on Home. If you already have a subscription, follow the relevant import steps. If you have details for a single server, open Add Server, select the matching Type, and enter the Host, Port, and any other fields required for that type. See the Shadowrocket setup guide for step-by-step instructions.

When you connect for the first time, the system may ask permission to add a VPN configuration. This authorizes the system network configuration; it is not a second purchase, and the App Store has not added a server for you. Make sure the prompt was triggered by an action you just initiated, then follow the system instructions to approve it.

After granting permission, check Global Routing: Config selects a configuration, Proxy routes through a proxy, and Direct connects directly. These options control how traffic is handled; they don’t change your purchase status. If Home shows Not Connected, check your configuration and connection switch instead of returning to the App Store to buy the app again.

Using Shadowrocket on iPad and other devices listed in the store

Purchase history is tied to your account; device compatibility is shown in the store.

Use the same Apple ID on iPhone and iPad

You can use the same Apple ID purchase history to get Shadowrocket on iPhone and iPad. If you bought it on your iPhone, first check that the Media & Purchases account on your iPad matches the purchase account, then find the app in the App Store’s Purchased section. See the App Store listing for device compatibility and whether the purchase is universal. Don’t pay again just because the button looks different on your new device.

On iPad, screen width, orientation, and display settings can change list widths and navigation placement compared with iPhone. Look for interface labels such as Home, Config, Settings, and Add Server rather than comparing screenshots pixel by pixel. The same settings should have the same meaning on both devices.

Installing the same app doesn’t automatically transfer your configuration. After opening Shadowrocket for the first time on iPad, check your server list, current configuration file, and Global Routing. Then decide whether to restore a backup or reimport your own subscription. Your network may differ after switching devices, so test the connection on each device rather than assuming the configuration has fully transferred.

Mac、Apple TV、Apple Vision

The compatibility section of the same App Store product page lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. To use Shadowrocket on one of these devices, check the product details and compatibility information in the App Store on that device.

Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements, device compatibility, and whether the purchase is universal. Don’t assume that because Shadowrocket installs on iPhone, it will meet the requirements of every Apple device. Menu paths may also differ between devices. The first-launch instructions on this page focus on iPhone and iPad.

If another device shows a price or an incompatibility message, check the purchase account, store region, and product ID first, then review your purchase history. Device model, system requirements, and store availability are separate things to check. The App Store product page is the only place to get Shadowrocket.

Switch devices and restore purchases

Restore your app purchase and personal configuration separately.

Redownload using the original purchase account

After switching devices or deleting the app, sign in to Media & Purchases with the Apple ID used for the original purchase. Then open App Store → Account → Purchased, find Shadowrocket, and download it again. On some system versions, the entry may be under Apps or another purchase history list; follow the options shown on your device.

If the app is still available for redownload by that account and your device is compatible, restoring it from Purchased does not require paying for the app again. This restores the purchase entitlement already associated with that account; it does not create a new transaction. If you see a price button, stop and check the account and purchase history, especially if your device’s iCloud account differs from the account used for App Store purchases.

If you can’t find the app in the list, check whether it was hidden, whether you’re using a different purchase account, whether your current region affects availability, and whether your device meets the compatibility requirements. If needed, review the app name and transaction status in your purchase history. Family Sharing availability depends on the App Store listing and the sharing settings on your account; don’t assume it’s enabled for every account.

Restore your own configuration after installation

After reinstalling the app, open Home and check whether your server list and configuration are still there. The app purchase record doesn’t store all your connection details. Device backups, configuration backups, and app purchases are separate. If the purchase restores successfully but the list is empty, that doesn’t mean the purchase has failed.

If you have a usable backup, restore it using your usual backup method. If not, reimport subscription or server details you already have. First check that the details are still valid, then review the selected server, Global Routing, and current configuration. Don’t copy outdated settings from your old device without checking them.

After restoring your configuration, run Connectivity Test, then verify that you can access the services you need. A successful test only confirms the result under those test conditions; consider your current network and rules as well. If something goes wrong, check in this order: App Store installation complete → details imported → system permission granted → routing set correctly. This keeps connection troubleshooting separate from purchase restoration.

Price and one-time purchase

The app purchase and connection services are separate costs.

$2.99 is a reference price for the US store

Shadowrocket is a one-time purchase; there’s no monthly app fee. The US store reference price is $2.99, while other storefronts show prices in local currency. Check the App Store listing and final purchase confirmation for the actual price, taxes, and total. Prices from one region are not fixed prices for every region.

The App Store handles payment. Before confirming, check the app name, purchase account, currency, and amount. After the transaction, verify it in your account’s purchase history. If payment fails or is pending, resolve the account issue first; the app’s connection switch can’t tell you whether a purchase succeeded.

App updates are delivered through the App Store. Depending on your device settings, you can use automatic updates or check for updates in the store. If the interface moves after an update, use the current labels to find features. Check the product page for current pricing, compatibility, and store information instead of relying on old screenshots.

One-time app purchase ≠ connection plan

A one-time app purchase ≠ a connection plan. Buying Shadowrocket gives you the right to use the app; it does not include a server, subscription link, or ongoing connection details. You’ll need your own subscription or server information to continue with setup and connect.

This is the official Shadowrocket site and manual. It does not provide or sell nodes or subscriptions, or recommend related services. The Add Server, Subscribe, and rules instructions explain how to use information you already have; they are not arrangements to purchase connection services.

If you can’t connect after installation, check whether your details are valid, the settings are correct, your network is working, and Global Routing is configured properly. Buying the app again won’t fix a connection issue. A one-time purchase describes how the app is sold; it does not guarantee the availability, speed, or results of external servers. Understanding this distinction helps separate App Store, account, and connection issues.

Download and purchase FAQ

Use the App Store message to identify the issue, then follow the relevant steps.

Why can’t I find Shadowrocket on the App Store?

This app is not available on the mainland China App Store. Your Apple ID’s country or region determines which store content you see; your device language does not. Check Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region, then open the App Store product page linked here. Follow Apple’s on-screen guidance for region changes and app availability.

Why can’t I download Shadowrocket even though I found its product page?

Note the exact App Store message, then check your account region, payment status, available device storage, local network, and the compatibility section. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements. If you’ve already purchased the app, check your purchase history before paying again.

Do I need to buy Shadowrocket again when I get a new iPhone or reinstall it?

Use the Apple ID that originally purchased the app. If Shadowrocket is still available for redownload by that account and your device is compatible, download it again from App Store → Account → Purchased without paying for the app again. Purchase history is separate from configuration data, so you’ll still need to restore your own configuration or import subscription or server details you already have.

Can I install Shadowrocket on my iPad if I bought it on my iPhone?

You can use the same Apple ID purchase history to get Shadowrocket on iPhone and iPad. First, make sure the Media & Purchases account on your iPad matches the account used for the original purchase, then look for the app in Purchased. Check the App Store listing for device compatibility and whether the purchase is universal.

Can I install Shadowrocket on Mac or Apple TV?

The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Check the listing in the App Store on the device you want to use. Refer to the listing for system requirements, device compatibility, and whether the purchase is universal.

How do I follow the manual when the app interface is in English?

This official manual keeps interface labels in English so you can match them step by step. Home is the main screen. Add Server is for entering server details you already have. Under Global Routing, Config, Proxy, and Direct refer to configuration, proxy, and direct routing. Screenshots help identify screens; the current app display determines the actual layout and available languages.
